The Orlando Catholic Charismatic Commission seeks to foster spiritual renewal
within the Catholic Church in the Diocese of Orlando, Florida. It works within the
established structure of the Church and adheres to Catholic doctrine and practice.
The Commission encourages the formation and development of STRONG
CHARISMATIC PRAYER GROUPS. It sees as the purpose of prayer groups to
praise God, to share Christian experiences, to engage in evangelization and
continuing catechises, to form committed Christian relationships, to encourage
lives of holiness and individual involvement in the life and ministries of the Church.
The Commission encourages charismatic prayer groups to foster the Baptism in
the Holy Spirit, which is an experience in which Jesus releases the power of His
Holy Spirit in Christian lives in a renewed and deeper way. The Commission sees
the development of strong charismatic prayer groups and the Baptism in the Holy
Spirit directed for the purpose of spiritually renewing individuals and parishes.

PURPOSE AND VISION

The purpose or vision of the Diocese of Orlando Catholic Charismatic
Commission is to provide communication, teaching and guidance for the Catholic
Charismatic Renewal in the diocese. More specifically, for the
EVANGELIZATION
CONVERSION of all to JESUS CHRIST
BAPTISM IN THE HOLY SPIRIT
BUILDING COMMUNITY

The Orlando Catholic Charismatic Commission is a policy and decision making
body. Its policies and decisions are implemented through the office of the
charismatic renewal.

PROGRAMS

The COMMUNICATION PROGRAMS include publishing a periodic newsletter of
charismatic news, happenings and teachings, maintaining and publishing a
directory of prayer groups in the diocese, and sponsoring both general and
leadership conferences. The
TEACHING PROGRAMS include sponsorship of
seminars and conferences, and recognition and development of gifted teachers,
both lay and clergy, within the diocese. The
GUIDANCE PROGRAMS include
pastoral leadership training, development of charismatic guide­lines for the
diocese, the formation of ministry teams for deanery and diocesan wide functions,
and the personal offices of the Liaison.
